Short shrink fit adapter – without gripper groove
For cylindrical tool shanks
Note:
The tolerance of the cutting tool shank diameter must be h6 or better. The cylindrical tool
shank should be cleaned and deburred before mounting into the adapter.
Shrink fit heating equipment
The shrink fit adapters depend upon applying heat to expand the adapter. When cooled,
the adapter contracts to grip around the tool shank. Please check if your induction heating
equipment can accept the special dimensions of the above short shrink fit adapters.
For guaranteed function, optimal tool performance, and for safe and easy handling of the
clamping process, it is recommended that Bilz Power Clamp induction heating equipment
for short adapters is used. It is required to follow the instruction from the induction hea-
ting equipment producer. Further information is available at www.bilz.com.

Power Skiving Unit for ID and OD
Operation principle: Power Skiving Sample workpieces
The workpiece axis and the skiving tool axis must
be related to each other in a defined angle (α).
The offset of the cutting tool (Y) caused by
rotating to the defined angle (α) must be
compensated with the Y-axis of the machine.

Note:
The cylindrical tool shank should be kept free from dirt and burrs before mounting into the adaptor to
maintain a safe grip and precision.
Shrink Units
The TER shrink collet expands by heating. When cooling down the collet contracts
and clamps the tool shank. For a safe and efficient shrinking process we recom-
mend to use ThermoGrip® inductive shrink units.
